The penultimate Selection Committee in 2016 for the Societe Generale Foundation took place on 22 September 2016.

The Selection Committee decided to support 7 projects to encourage integration or education through sport and culture, as well as providing career opportunities for people in difficulty.

Belleville Citoyenne

Belleville Citoyenne was set up in 2010 with the aim of developing popular education projects, sports events and cultural events in public spaces inspired by the idea of citizenship. For example, the "theatre in the basement" programme, which was set up in 2013, provides 15 participants with 8 months of free learning, a 5 day workshop during the Easter holidays and tickets to see productions. The charity also organises cultural events in public spaces which attract audiences of up to 10,000 people.

The project

_Blank is a free, intensive training programme for digital skills (web development and integration, graphics, etc.) aimed at young people from the Politique de la Ville du Grand Belleville neighbourhood.

The objectives of the project are to provide young people in the programme with web development skills and new digital careers training (web integrators, fab and community managers, etc.), so as to be able to make websites and use digital tools to support local cultural and charitable initiatives, and the digital needs of local projects. Finally, the training programme offers tailored career support aimed at achieving one of three possible objectives once participants graduate: returning to training, employment or investment in the N+1 project.

The Foundation is proud to support Belleville Citoyenne. We will speak to you again about this brilliant project very soon.
