The penultimate Selection Committee in 2016 for the Societe Generale Foundation took place on 22 September 2016.
The Selection Committee decided to support 7 projects to encourage integration or education through sport and culture, as well as providing career opportunities for people in difficulty.
Gaïa was set up in 2009. It is an educational institution which offers specialist educational services for 70 disabled people, as well as animal-assisted therapy, and four vocational agricultural training programmes with the aim of supporting socio-professional integration.
The project supported by the Foundation involves building a cultural centre and developing a programme of artistic activities for service users on the farm as well as secondary school pupils in the Sidi Thabet region. The farm regularly hosts schools and companies to spend a day with or take part in activities with disabled service users. In this way, the farm contributes to improving access to culture for young people in the Sidi Thabet region and encouraging empathy and contact between local young people and disabled service users at the centre.
