On 4th June, Societe Generale Global Solution Center (SG GSC) in Bangalore hosted a Women's Rugby League with the Jungle Crows Foundation. 22 exceptionally talented kids from the Khelo Rugby program and 18 members of the women's Rugby team came together for friendly matches. All 40 of them were divided in four teams: Red Thunders, Burning Blues, Chameleons and Ganchali Boys with each team comprising of both employees and kids.
Members from the GSC Umaang (Employee Club) kicked off proceedings with two fun ice-breaking sessions, designed to showcase the importance of team spirit. The first, a simple game was designed to test technique and skill of the participants and the second was around innovation, wherein each team was tasked to create a logo for the Women's Rugby team. The children came up with great art and were given SG bags as gifts.
After this, all warmed up and raring to go now, each one of the games played were hotly contested, with some very spirited play from all sides. In the battle for the two top, team Red Thunders won and team Chameleons were the runners-up.
The kids were full of energy and enthusiasm of budding Rugby players and were suitably rewarded with a pair of rugby shoes sponsored by SG GSC.
