Since 2014, Terres en Mêlées has targeted the region of Tuléar for the development of community rugby for children living in the isolated villages on the Sapphire Coast.

On the first weekend in June, the association organised the first edition of the 100% women's Rugby Tournament. 300 girls from the south western region of Madagascar took part in the tournament on Madagascar's Sapphire Coast. Throughout the competition, the teams of girls were encouraged to learn about and reflect on how to protect the flora and fauna of the Sapphire Coast, which is one of the most beautiful regions of Madagascar. Playing for the environment and converting the try of female emancipation through sport, such was the challenge of this tournament.
