For Citizen Commitment Time 2016, Societe Generale employees were encouraged to take part in solidarity activities for several associations.

The IT4Kids workshop was one such activity. The purpose of this workshop was to introduce the young people at the Apprentis d Auteuil foundation to computer programming and team work in order to help them better understand the digital world around them. On Wednesday 25 May, this team of committed volunteers, made up of 6 Societe Generale employees, went to one of Apprentis d'Auteuil's educational establishments in Orly to introduce 13 children to IT.

3 fun workshops were offered focussing on computer programming and team spirit:

  • Minecraft: a popular video game in which you create your own world that you can then set out to discover, made possible through coding
  • Scratch: a fun piece of software used to create your own video games in the same way you build a Lego model
  • Agile: various entertaining challenges to help the children understand that success requires team work

Well done and thank you to the 6 committed employees who shared their skills with the children in the Apprentis d'Auteuil association, a partner of the Societe Generale Foundation for Solidarity since 2011.
