The Societe Generale corporate Foundation has supported Aditus since 2014.
Aditus promotes, designs, and develops tools and accessibility models aimed at reducing or getting rid of the disadvantages faced by people who are deaf or hearing impaired. Aditus' main focal points are access to information and communication, telephone access, and encouraging social interaction.
The Societe Generale corporate foundation has been supporting its “Accessible Interview Service" project since 2014. The lack of telephone access for people who are deaf or hearing impaired is an obstacle to finding employment. Aditus has adopted a two-pronged approach with this project: developing phone booths in Paris and the surrounding area, which allow communication between deaf and hearing people using sign language, cued speech, or text; and running workshops on using the telephone at work to help young deaf people find employment.
The project helped more than 1,000 deaf or hearing impaired people find work in 2014. That figure rose to 1,500 in 2015. The Societe Generale corporate Foundation will therefore continue to support Aditus and its work on providing telephone accessibility for deaf and hearing impaired people in 2016.
