Since 1991, the charity ARES has supported a group of people distanced from employment, who are acutely socially deprived, and most of whom have many difficulties. The aim is to offer an assisted contract with general social support which reduces the different obstacles to work integration.
Ares is above all an airlock, a place where people can put their luggage down, sort out their problems and gradually prepare for their professional and personal future. The charity helps regain self-confidence through independence, the keystone to sustainable employment.
Ares is a group which brings together 6 work integration companies, including Ares Atelier, Ares Services, Ares Coop, La Petite Reine, Log'ins and Ateliers Sans Frontières.
HISTORY OF PROJECTS SUPPORTED BY THE SOCIETE GENERAL COMPANY FOUNDATION
The Societe Generale Foundation for Solidarity has supported several organisations in the Ares group since 2008 and the charity became a major Foundation partner at the end of 2014.
From 2008 for a period of two years, the Foundation supported the creation and the development of La Petite Reine during its transformation from a charity into a work integration social enterprise organising environment-friendly parcel deliveries. In parallel, the Foundation supported the development of Ares Atelier from 2008 to 2012.
Furthermore, between 2007 and 2014 the Foundation supported the "Chantiers de la solidarité", "Assoclic" and "Clic Emploi" programmes of Ateliers Sans Frontières (ASF), a charity which collects and reconditions computing equipment. These two programmes have helped associations and people experiencing financial difficulties to access IT equipment which has been reconditioned by employees in work integration schemes. ASF joined the Ares group in July 2013.
In 2011, the innovative project Log'ins emerged. This non-profit company, which seeks to provide an innovative response to the issue of access to employment for people with disabilities, was supported by the foundation. Today, this project is being developed through the creation of regional satellite centres, with the continued aim of supporting as many people as possible. The Foundation has supported Log'ins since 2013.
This year, the Foundation has supported the development of the Ares Atelier centre for adaptation to the working world, through support to social and cultural assistance for employees re-integrating in the organisation. The charity holds drama, screen writing, painting and musical workshops in partnership with the Mozart Paris Orchestra. "At Ares, we encourage our beneficiaries to use all their social and cultural experiences so they can better discover themselves and form closer ties with one another," states Ares general director, Thibault Guilly.
This year too, the Foundation's Board of Directors decided to renew its support to Log'ins by supporting its development and the opening of a satellite centre in Rhône-Alpes.
The Societe Generale Foundation is proud to have supported Ares for many years, to observe that this work integration company is growing from day to day, and to be able to provide more and better support, through innovative projects, to people experiencing difficulty getting back to work.
