Pro Bono Lab and Defacto are rallying Paris La Défense for the public good


On 5 and 6 November 2015, during Pro Bono Week, volunteer Alstom, Dalkia, EDF, EY, ERDF, Manpower, Societe Generale and Thales employees are joining forces to help 9 associations: Coexister, ASD, Jobirl, Côtes d’Auty, Blue Energy, Orange Rouge, Café Babel, Clown'z Hôpitaux and Le Refuge.
Bolstered by the Pro Bono Lab, nearly 100 employees will contribute their expertise to charitable causes during a Probono Marathon.


8 COMPANIES IN SUPPORT OF THE ASSOCIATIONS

An abbreviation of the Latin expression "pro bono publico", meaning "for the public good", pro bono represents the voluntary commitment of professionals who get involved in charitable causes for no fee.
In France, 70% of associations require skilled support to develop and 79% consider that companies are well-placed to provide these skills. Pro Bono Lab and Defacto provide a link between these associations and the employees of companies at La Défense.

A long-term partner of Pro Bono Week, Societe Generale invites its staff members to take part in this initiative. Supported by the Group, these volunteers will put their communications, marketing, human resources and web skills to use for one of these associations.  Since 2012, Societe Generale has been a partner of Pro Bono Lab and regularly organises Pro Bono Days that put its employees, and their skills, in contact with the Group's partners charities.


PRO BONO WEEK: WHAT IS IT?

From 25 to 31 October 2015, Pro Bono Week is an international push to make as many people aware of pro bono work as possible. More than 20 countries on the 5 continents are organising conferences, live-­tweets, free consultancy days for associations, etc.  France stands out with the involvement of La Défense, the first business district in the world to get involved in the event.


For the first time, employees at Alstom, Dalkia, EDF, EY, ERDF, Manpower, Societe Generale and Thales will join together to help charitable causes during a Probono Marathon. On 5 and 6 November 2015, nearly 100 volunteers will provide their expertise to meet the needs of 9 associations, free of charge: Coexister, ASD, Jobirl, Côtes d’Auty, Blue Energy, Orange Rouge, Café Babel, Clown'z Hôpitaux and Le Refuge.

For two weeks, from 19 to 31 October 2015, Defacto, which manages the La Défense business district and is a partner of the operation, will make its display media available to the Pro Bono Lab. This campaign should help raise awareness of pro bono work among 160,000 workers from the 400 companies at La Défense.
