On 30th May, the Society Generale Group held a Charity Run for its employees in Tsytin, Russia in the Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event was attended by representatives of Rosbank, Rusfinance Bank, DeltaCredit, Societe Generale Insurance and ALD Automotive.
The Run was organised in collaboration with the “Downside Up Fund”, which helps families bringing up children with Down syndrome. About 300 people in total took part in the 800 metre run. Each of the participants received a special chip that recorded the distance covered. The event also included a 300 metre and a 600 metre run for children together with a Fun Run, the winner being the runner with the most creative costume.
For every metre run by the participants, the Societe Generale Group donated 1 rouble to ‘”Downside Up”’. The total amount collected for the main run was 1,125.000 roubles (approximately 18,423 Euros). 176,648 roubles (approximately 2, 897 Euros) were collected for the children’s runs and the Fun Run. This year, a total of 1 301,648 roubles (21,320 Euros) will be transferred to ‘Downside Up’.
This is the fourth time that the Group has held The Charity Run in Russia. During this time companies have collected 4,121.648 roubles (approximately 67,552 Euros). The funds were transferred to individual and group programmes to help children with Down syndrome from birth to 7 years old.
