Apprentis d'Auteuil has been taking care of, educating, training and integrating young people in great social, familial or educational difficulty for nearly 150 years. Recognised as a public interest foundation, Apprentis d'Auteuil meets these 4 needs in 200 establishments. Today, nearly 23,000 young people in France are entrusted to it, by their families or the child welfare services.

Each young person who is supported follows a personalised course to develop their social skills and expertise in the profession of their choice.

"Youth unemployment, in the context of the current economic crisis, is a real challenge that we must tackle. Reinforcing our connections with the business world to improve the employability of the young people entrusted to us is essential. Which is why, Apprentis d'Auteuil made helping young people secure their first job its main priority. It is mainly through high-quality partnerships, such as that established with the Societe Generale Foundation for Solidarity, that we can try out new approaches and reinvent the way young people transition to working life." François Content, Managing Director of Apprentis d'Auteuil

History of the partnership

The relationship between Apprentis d'Auteuil and Societe Generale goes back a long time and has been reinforced over the last few years with support from the Societe Generale Foundation. The Foundation has supported Apprentis d'Auteuil since 2011, especially to develop its rugby programmes for pupils at the establishment in Sannois (Val d'Oise region). The year after, the DEPAR (Dispositif Expérimenté de Plateformes pour une Alternance Réussie - Platforms for successful part-time work and study) support scheme was awarded a subsidy for three French towns, helping young people to define a professional project and sign a work-study contract.

In 2013, Apprentis d'Auteuil was supported as part of a project by the professional training centre in Loos-en Gohelle (Nord-Pas-de-Calais region), specialised in construction trades, where young people were able to learn eco-building techniques. In 2014, the sport programmes at Sannois were once again supported by the Foundation as well as by Societe Generale Head Office personnel, at the Citizen Commitment Games sporting and solidarity challenge.

In total, since 2011, almost 1,000 of the young people under the charity's guidance were supported by the Foundation. This year, Apprentis d'Auteuil has been chosen to receive a donation from Societe Generale, as part of Citizen Commitment Time, for its educational project concerning classical music in one of their establishments near Nantes.
