Every week, we highlight a Societe Generale Corporate Foundation for Solidarity partner charity.
SINGA France is a charity founded in 2012 to improve the socio-economic integration of recognised refugees in France.
It has developed 3 major programmes: "SINGA Langues et cultures" (SINGA Languages and Cultures), focused on boosting literacy; support for refugee entrepreneurs; and "SINGA Etudes" (SINGA Studies), which aims to identify best practices, such as technological innovations used in other countries.
In 2014, the Societe Generale Corporate Foundation is supporting the charity's work with refugee entrepreneurs through the "Massy project," a foodservice activity coordinated by SINGA France.
The project is a cooperative managed by 4 refugees, who receive personalised support including a professional training course at the Institut Paul Bocuse to enhance their skills, as well as access to French classes and courses on socio-cultural is in foodservice. Starting in January 2015, they can put what they have learned into practice at a new restaurant on the Cimade site in Massy-Palaiseau.
