In 2013 the Foundation’s activities were full of exciting events and discoveries. Look back at the highpoints of the year for the Societe Generale Foundation.
Literacy finally takes its rightful place
A major cause nationally, promoting literacy has been a particularly important part of Societe Generale's social commitment as a member of the collective effort. The support given to the Prince Mossi organisation has further strengthened the Foundation's work in the field. This Burkina Faso charity has won us over with its enthusiasm and commitment.
The Foundation opens doors to business
Over the years the Societe Generale Foundation has strengthened its partnerships through the involvement of Group colleagues in charitable projects. Mozaïk RH and its Passerelles project are a case in point. In 2013 the young women mentored by Societe Generale female staff were able to visit the Group’s collection of contemporary art, as well as learning about the VIE programmes at a presentation with UbiFrance.
Citizen Commitment Week, when excellence shines
Citizen Commitment Week is when Societe Generale's social commitment really comes to the fore. And 2013 was no exception. This year mentoring and support took pride of place, with the Défi Solidaire (Solidarity Challenge) collecting donations of more than 1600 professional advice sessions from colleagues around the world. The advice sessions were done through the participating organisations, at meetings that were accessible and exciting for those taking part. The Citizen Commitment Awards, for their part, were more successful than ever, with over 5000 votes in two weeks.
The Foundation promotes its partners externally too
For the first time the Foundation has gained some external exposure. With two positive and emotionally-charged team stories, the spotlight fell on collective and solidarity focused projects run by two associations that are long term partners of the Foundation: Tissons la solidarité and Apprentis d’Auteuil.
