Seoul has been chosen as the host country for the fourth annual Asia Pacific Bike Ride, which will take place on 12 and 13 October 2013 . The location was selected to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Societe Generale’s establishment in South Korea, and the granting in July this year of a Financial Investment Business licence in Korea by the Republic of Korea’s Financial Services Commission, which permits the Bank to conduct financial investment dealings and brokerage activities onshore.
Previous Asia Pacific bike rides have been held in Beijing, China in 2010, Siem Reap, Cambodia in 2011, and Taichung, Taiwan in 2012. Last year, 110 cyclers, staff members of Société Générale in Asia, from eight markets raised over EUR120,000 by cycling 120km from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake. This year, riders will cycle along the beautiful Han River in Seoul, while taking in views of some of the most scenic areas of the South Korean capital.
The bike ride is a landmark event in Societe Generale’s Asia Pacific citizenship calendar, and provides an ideal platform for staff from different countries to work together side-by-side to raise funds for charity partners across Asia as part of Societe Generale’s commitment to professional integration.
