Every week, we focus on one of the Societe Generale Foundation for Solidarity's partner associations.

POINFOR is a vocational training centre which has been active in the Champagne-Ardenne region since 1996, supporting people in difficulty who are seeking to enter the employment market.

The project's focal point is its beneficiaries. They receive support and assistance in terms of career orientation, training and professional integration.

The centre offers its expertise, providing a personalised package for each participant: vocational training with recognized qualifications, literacy courses or continuing, on-the-job training

As a member of Infrep (Institut National de Formation et Recherche sur l’Education Permanente) / Ligue de l’enseignement, the national training network which represents over 60 careers centre in France, POINFOR is proactive in contributing to the national debate on employment policy.

The POINFOR not-for-profit driving school

In 2012, the Societe Generale Foundation funded the test phase of the POINFOR not-for-profit driving school. The centre joined forces with ADASMS (Auto-École Associative pour public handicapé) to provide an alternative to help job-seekers and disabled people to obtain their driver’s license.

Participants receive, on average, 60 hours of theory and 35 / 40 hours of driving practice. A dedicated teaching team supports participants during the training programme and in their professional integration efforts.

This initiative has been renewed for 2013. POINFOR is seeking to develop its action and integrate it in a regional access scheme, focussing on mobility.
