• Why did you want to take part in the programme?

I wanted to make a small contribution by doing something simple but essential for young job seekers. My years of experience with the Societe Generale group have helped me to understand the expectations of the company and the need to help young people throughout the process, before and after they take up their position.  Providing our hindsight to these young people hungry for advice and guidance to optimise their employability was an exciting experience.

  • How do/did you feel after completing the sessions with the young people?

My exchanges with the young people from underprivileged backgrounds seeking to enter the job market were an emotional and enriching experience. Feeling useful by helping others to find a job gives you a unique experience during working hours. It makes you feel important, gives you a sense of purpose and makes you feel even prouder to belong to a responsible group that is committed to making a positive impact.

  • What would you say to other employees to convince them to take part?

I would simply tell them to make the most of the opportunities the bank provides us. They will enjoy a privileged experience of openness and exchange which is enriching for all. Spending time to help others during your working hours gives a real boost to your day. It draws you out of your everyday routine and allows you to feel useful. Try it once and you’ll be hooked!
