This year Sport dans la Ville is celebrating its 20th anniversary. France’s leading sports-based integration not-profit has benefited from Societe Generale’s support since its creation in 1998. The Group is continuing its commitment through its Foundation, which made Sport dans la Ville one of its five Major Partners.
Supporting the professional integration of young people
Sport dans la Ville establishes and runs sports centres in priority neighbourhoods, as defined under urban policy, where they provide a certain number of integration programmes. Societe Generale has been by the non-profit's side since its creation and notably funded the creation of the first sports fields in Lyon. Today, the Societe Generale Foundation actively supports the association’s professional integration programmes, including Job dans la Ville whose 2014 cohort was mentored by Frédéric Oudéa. In 2018, 1,200 young people benefited from this support system to find employment or training.
Societe Generale, a special partner of Sport dans la Ville
As a “Major Partner” of the Societe Generale Foundation, Sport dans la Ville also regularly gets Group employees involved. They give their time to the young people, get involved in sports events organised to raise donations and take part in charity football competitions. In Lyon, where the association is based, the Sport dans la Ville teams also organise Societe Generale’s Citizen Commitment Time on the non-profit’s campus, which was partially funded by the Group. “This lasting support is very important as it enables us to develop long-term programmes. We would not have been able to scale up our operations without partners like Societe Generale,” reveals Iris Bazin, Partnerships Manager for Ile-de-France - Haut-de-France.
