On 20th June the Group organised a flash mob to benefit the French charity Secours Populaire. 300 employees did a several-minute choreographed dance on the esplanade in front of the Societe Generale towers at La Défense in front of quite a crowd!
The Group gave € 10 for each employee who took part to the Village des Copains du Monde (Village of Global Friends) project. € 3,000 were collected, enabling over 150 underprivileged children from 21 countries – in which Secours Populaire is active with community projects – to get together and discover France and the wealth of its cultural diversity.
For three weeks, their days were spent attending artistic workshops, taking part in games and sports and visiting cultural sites accompanied by the Éclaireurs de France*.
On 22nd August we went to join them in Paris so that we could tell you all about this great project.
Once again, many thanks to all the employees who came for the day and let’s turn out again next year for other community projects!
The video of the flash mob is still on the site.
* The Éclaireurs de France (EED) is a secular scouting movement, founded in 1911 and affiliated with the French Federation of Scouts. It is the oldest scouting movement in France.
