In detail

Created in 1988, IECD is an international charity in Africa, the Middle East, Madagascar, South-East Asia and Latin America. IECD trains the key players of tomorrow to support the human and economic development of the countries where they operate. Its ambition is to allow young people, adults, professionals and development workers to acquire the necessary tools to build their future and to have a positive impact on society.

IECD thus develops skills training in sectors with employment potential. Intended for young people who have limited access to education, they give them the tools to integrate into the world of work. IECD also manages a small entrepreneur support programme. It aims to allow them to better organise their activities and to improve their living conditions. Finally, IECD reinforces the abilities of education and health centres which receive people with specific needs.

History of partnership

The Societe Generale Foundation has supported the opening of a catering college in Fianarantsoa (Madagascar). This catering college, which opened its doors in Autumn 2013, aims to train disadvantaged young people - men and women - in accommodation, catering and cooking trades.
