AUTREMONDE was created in 1994 to receive any person who wanted to get involved in solidarity or social action without requiring any particular skill or qualification from them.
Autremonde is an activist organisation under the 1901 Act, defending the values of solidarity and equality and rejecting the discourse of marginalisation, as according to its charter. It acts outside any partisan, religious or racial premise. It promotes the involvement of young people. To achieve its goal, it undertakes field action, which expresses its values and nourishes its strategic thinking. Autremonde is a general interest organisation.
To achieve its aims, its takes field action in 4 programmes:
- alongside migrants through combating illiteracy and access to rights programmes
- against hardship with day reception activities, reception lorries at the station and foot raids
- culture for all: promoting culture as a driver for integration and independence
- a schooling support centre in Mali founded in 1999 in Kayes
The Societe Generale Foundation granted a subsidy for the project "FOS - Keys for professional integration" from 2011 to 2013, an initiative for French language learning and taking ownership of the tools for job-seeking. The aim is to acquire specific French skills for work, to keep one's job and facilitate one's job search in three sectors under pressure: building, catering and cleaning.
