The "Les Amis de Môme Aillaud" association (non-profit) was created in the Parc district of Nanterre in 1990.
It provides French courses for adults, at different education levels, helping them participate in their children's schooling, but also, thanks to social mediation, to become independent in their different administrative and citizen affairs.
Education support is provided for primary school children and secondary school pupils with French courses for adults, or literacy classes, socio-linguistic workshops and educational support.
The Societe Generale Foundation has supported Les Amis de Môme Aillaud for three years (2011-2013) for their literacy project, which aims to integrate the population from the Parc district in Nanterre, and training for jobs relating to teaching French as a Foreign Language (FFL).
- The project implemented a Socio-Linguistic Workshop centred on "practical" French, with the aim of acquiring independence in day-to-day life and encouraging oral communication.
- It also includes FFL classes focusing on writing. These courses specifically target people who want to access work.
- The project includes the training of coordinators who teach French in the workshops, and sponsors university training in FFL teaching.
